Emmanuel is the last born in a family of five boys, his life changed immediately after his mother's demise. During the preparation for his mother's burial, he learnt that he was an illegitimate son in that family. The news weighed heavily on him especially when he has told to remain in the custody of his stepfather.
The mistreatment he faced was more of animal,  he recalls how his stepfather made him survive in the forest as he sat for his KCPE
