Former Sports CS Hassan Wario pays court fine of 3.6 million shillings to secure his freedom

Former Sports Cabinet Secretary who presided over multimillion graft during the 2016 Rio Olympics Hassan Wario is a free man. Wario who later became Kenya’s ambassador to Austria has fully paid a 3.6 million shillings court fine to secure his freedom. His co-accused and fellow convict Stephen sang who was at the national Olympics committee then will however spend 10 years in prison after failing to pay a 115 million shillings fine. This conviction could be a major boost to the ongoing war on graft.
