Siaya senator and minority leader in the senate James Orengo has told off a section of ODM members who have been plotting to oust him as the minority leader after flagging fundamental issues in the constitutional amendment bill, 2020. According to Orengo, he will never be intimidated in his political career and that he will continue to follow his conscience while performing his national duties. His statement coming only hours after former prime minister Raila Odinga’s spokesman Dennis Onyango confirmed that Raila had no intention of kicking out Orengo as the minority leader in the senate. And as Chris Chairu reports, the question on whether to amend the BBI amendment bill or not has left the party divided with Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo becoming the first casualty of the differences.
