INSIDE SOURCE: How human traffickers are preying on vulnerable girls from the Karamojong region

01, Aug 2021

A year ago Ktn News’ investigations unit dug into a human trafficking ring operating between Nairobi and Kampala Uganda. Our investigations revealed that there was a connected group of people promising young but poor Karamojong girls jobs in Kenya only to give them out as house helps and sex workers. Those not lucky to get either are left in hopelessness to wander in Nairobi’s East Leigh. Fresh statistics now show that there are about 3,000 Karamojong girls in Nairobi. We can tonight report that the trade has not stopped neither has the suffering of the victims.
