Crocodile attacks in villages around Lake Baringo, especially at Kambi ya samaki have become commonplace. documents from the Kenya wildlife service KWS, show that crocodile attacks rank second after snake bites in human-wildlife conflicts within Baringo county. Tens of people are still coming to terms with how they were pulled from the jaws of a crocodile leaving them with permanent scars and disabilities. While for the few unlucky ones, lives were lost, with deeply mutilated bodies being buried or even, some families left with nothing to bury. Ibrahim Karanja spent time around lake Baringo and compiled this special report, that mirrors pain and anguish and the long tedious journey that is compensation.
