10th Anniversary of Operation Linda Nchi: Kdf’s journey to restore peace and stability in Somalia

The capture of Kismayo port city on 28th September 2012 through “operation sledgehammer” remains one of the major complex operations staged by the Kenya Defence Forces and Amisom troops against the ragtag Al Shabaab militia. Kismayo was Al Shabaab's final stronghold and its capture led to the degradation and disintegration of the Islamic militant group. As Kenya marks the tenth anniversary of “Operation Linda Nchi,” our senior political affairs reporter Patrick Amimo takes us through Kdf’s journey to restore peace and stability in neighboring Somalia.
