22, Jul 2021

A sugar plantation worth Ksh 1.5 million went up in smoke following a dispute between residents of Nyando and Nyakach constituencies over a dyke constructed to control river Nyando waters. The owner of the sugar plantation 66-year-old harris Ogada is still counting losses occasioned by the arsonists. The local leaders have agreed to suspend the construction of the dyke until stakeholder engagement is done.
