Teachers' pay report: Teachers to get better salaries under CBC

7th March, 2021

It turns out the 20172021 collective bargaining agreement between the teacher's service commission and the teacher's unions was drawn and implemented in favour of school administrators at the expense of classroom teachers. A report by the salaries and remuneration commission, SCR, states that there were significant disparities in the compensation and career progression between the institutional administrators and classroom teachers, which failed to cater for the remuneration of classroom teachers. And as KTN's Shadrack Mitty reports, the advisory by src to TSC is inevitably set to see teachers get higher salaries to come June this year.
