There are currently 350,000 people with visual impairment and another 650,000 with partial impairment in Kenya. All blindness related cases can be treated if discovered early, but this is not the case in Kenya where majority of people wait until such cases develop into more complicated stages before seeking treatment. The Kenya society for the blind in partnership with other organizations including Standard Group held a walk to raise awareness on the need for early screening and also on the plight of the visually impaired.
