A group of women from Kariobangi and Korogocho slums have come together under the Twaweza Initiative in a bid to improve their lives and those of young girls from poor families who are forced to engage in crime and prostitution to fend for their families. They make mats, carpets, bags and shoes from waste collected from textile companies in Nairobi.
