Police in Eldoret South were this evening waiting for the Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale to record a statement after his car allegedly knocked and killed a woman on the Eldoret-Nakuru highway. Khalwale and his driver were blocked by irate residents who claimed the driver was trying to speed off after the fatal accident. The Eldoret South OCPD Esther Muhoro however said the driver was merely trying to drive to the nearest police station to report the accident. The senator’s driver and the car are detained at Tarakwa police post pending further investigations.
