Tax transactions and compliance have been made easier for taxpayers. The kenya revenue authority has introduced a mobile phone application , aimed at simplifying access to various kra services. The move is set to see the taxman net in more revenue. During the last fiscal year, kra missed its targets by a whopping 350 billion shillings, the highest discrepancy in five years, that saw the government net 1.43 trillion shillings in taxes. The m?service app will allow taxpayers to access various services offered by the authority, such as taxpayer registration and verification, filing of returns and payment of tax. The system will widen taxpayer reach, and possibly increase revenue collection.
