The composition of the ten-member committee tasked with crafting the Broad-Based Government’s common manifesto is drawing attention to the shifting balance of political influence ahead of the 2027 General Election. While allies of President William Ruto, ODM and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula feature prominently in the team, the absence of clear political allies of Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi is raising questions about their influence within the emerging political arrangement. With the Broad-Based Government increasingly turning its focus to 2027, the committee’s membership could offer early clues on who is gaining influence and who may be losing political ground.
