Isaac Ruto faces scrutiny over attendance at UDA national council

Judicial Service Commission vice chairperson Isaac Ruto is under scrutiny following his decision to attend the ruling UDA party’s National Governing Council meeting at State House, Nairobi.

The former Bomet governor’s presence at the political meeting has sparked debate, with legal experts raising concerns over a possible conflict of interest. They argue that his participation in active politics violates constitutional provisions governing the conduct of members of independent commissions.

Some legal practitioners are now calling for Ruto’s removal from office, insisting that JSC commissioners must remain politically neutral.
