Family speaks out: Man accused of killing GSU officer at State House had mental health struggles

The family of Kithuka Kimunyi Musyimi, the man at the center of a chilling security breach that left a GSU officer dead outside State House, now says he had long battled mental health issues.

From their quiet homestead in Kalawa Village, Makueni County, the family recounted spending the entire Sunday with him, unaware that just hours later, he would travel to Nairobi — or that his journey would end in tragedy and headlines.

Kibera court has granted DCI detectives 14 more days to hold the suspect as investigations into the shocking murder continue.
