Kimani Ichung'wah's remarks about Dorcas Rigathi sparks outrage within Gachagua's DCP party

Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah is facing backlash after making controversial remarks about Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, wife of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, during a public event in Kajiado. In what many see as a personal attack wrapped in political rivalry, Ichung’wah appeared to mock Gachagua’s “wantam” slogan and suggested the former DP had failed to prioritize his own household. Members of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), closely allied to Gachagua, have condemned the remarks as deeply disrespectful and unbecoming of a national leader, calling for disciplinary action and even intervention from the NCIC. The uproar comes amid escalating tensions between the two factions, with critics warning that such rhetoric risks fueling political animosity and undermining cohesion ahead of the 2027 elections.
