Police hunt suspect behind string of schoolgirl murders in Siaya

Police in Siaya County have launched an intense manhunt for a suspect believed to be behind the brutal murders of two schoolgirls in Gem Sub-county. The killings of 17-year-old Emma Akinyi Onyango and 18-year-old Angel Mitchell Atieno, whose bodies were discovered days apart with signs of sexual assault and violence, have sent shockwaves across the region. Investigators are piecing together leads as pressure mounts from the community, which recently held protests demanding justice and tighter security. Authorities have urged parents and schools to enforce a new directive barring students from arriving before 7 a.m. as efforts to restore safety in the area continue.
