MMUST welcome former champions KCB in Kakamega

Former Kenya Cup champions KCB will be eying to maintain their perfect start to the 2022-2023 season when they travel to play Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) RFC on Saturday in Kakamega.
Currently second in the log with five points same as leaders Menengai Oilers and third placed Kabras Sugar, the bankers this season has set a target of finishing top and will need a bonus point win to ensure they remain on course to achieve their target.
However, MMUST have improved over the past years and they will be seeking to bounce back to winning ways after narrowly losing to Strathmore Leos last weekend.
Speaking ahead of the match, MMUST assistant coach John Asila said they won't be easy pushovers despite a poor start to the season.
MMUST lost 23-21 to Strathmore University last weekend, a result Asila believes was not bad considering they went toe to toe with last season semifinalists.
"We are MMUST and we believe in ourselves despite the opponent we will be facing. Yes, KCB are a big challenge to the young boys but we believe we can win. We have to defend our home ground," said Asila.

In Naiorbi, newbies Monks will make a short trip to Kenyatta University to face Blak Blad RFC at the KU Rugby Grounds.
The Monks will be looking to avenge their 40-13 loss to Kabras RFC in Kakamega last weekend but will have to face Blak Blad who saw off Mwamba last week.
The other match will feature Homeboyz take on Strathmore Leos at Jamhuri Grounds.
