Narok, Kenya: A man has been trampled to death by an elephant and another seriously injured in Siana Conservancy near Masai Mara National Reserve.
The duo are said to have been heading to meeting in the conservancy on Sunday afternoon when the elephant attacked them, instantly killing one of them.
Narok KWS Senior Warden William Sang, who regretted the incident, called on the public to avoid using paths passing through the conservancy.

“The service regrets the incident which it believes could have been avoided had the two used other routes. The conservancy is a wildlife zone where dangerous animals move unhindered,” he said.
He said efforts to track down the elephant, which disappeared after the incident, were underway.
“The rogue elephant poses a security threat to locals and we are tracking it down to ensure it does not cause more deaths and injuries,” said Sang.
He said KWS would cater for the funeral expenses of the deceased and the hospital bill of the survivor. The body was taken to Narok North District Hospital mortuary.
