Olympic steeplechase champion Conseslus Kipruto arraigned before Kapsabet Court, Nandi where he denied defiling a 15-year-old girl.
Kipruto denied the charges before Principal Magistrate D. Ocharo and released on a Sh200,000 cash bail.
According to the charges, Kipruto us alleged to have defiled the minor on October 20-21 in Tironiin village, Mutwot location.
He was also accused of having an indecent act with a minor.

He appeared via Zoom after he was driven to the law courts under tight security as police attempted to prevent journalists from covering the court proceedings.
The Prosecution claims the 25-year-old athlete eloped with the teenager prompting the parents to report the incident at Mosoriot police station.
The case was scheduled for hearing in May 10, 2021 after Kipruto released after paying the cash bail as per the court orders.
Parents and relatives thronged Kapsabet magistrate’s courts demanding justice and held brief demonstrations outside the law courts.
