Raila in Kisii, how he is preparing Gusii land over CS Matiang'i recent actions

NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has urged Kisii County residents not to feel intimidated by the acting interior CS Fred Matiang'i as the elections day nears. 

Mr Odinga's camp has had conflicting views on the deployment of heavy security and alleged involvement of the Kenya Defense Forces to various parts of the country during the electioneering period. 

Mr Odinga who addressed locals during the coalition's campaigns to solidify support the opposition just a day after President Uhuru's Jubilee Party toured the area and asked the youth to ensure that they protected their votes. 

"Do not be intimidated by Matiang'i. We have to protect our votes on August 8," said Mr Odinga. 

Raila was speaking in the company of ODM party candidates Sam Ongeri and Senator Janet Ong'era who are eyeing the Senate and Women Representative seats respectively. 

Also in the company of Mr Odinga was Governor James Ongwae who is defending his seat on an ODM party ticket but Senator Chris Obure is seeking to unseat him on a Jubilee Party ticket. 

Mr Odinga said ambulances will be released by Governor Ongwae to help ferry the sick from hospitals in the county ensuring that they were not locked out of the exercise. 

"We will ask the governor to release ambulances that will carry the sick to polling stations so that they cast their votes," he said.

The opposition campaigned in Nyacheki, Ogembo and was later set for a major rally in Kisii town where president Uhuru campaigned on Monday.
