Bandari swimmers were outstanding as they smashed four national records in the national Age Group and Open championships at Mombasa's Oshwal Academy.
Coached by former international swimmer Fakry Mansoor, the Bandari swimmers erased their own boys' 800m Open freestyle relay, setting a new record of eight minutes 07.45 seconds in the all comers, open, and 16-over categories.
The previous record was 8.19.14 (all comers), 8.21.06 (open), 16-over (8.39.90) set by the same club in October last year. Yesterday's winning team had Ridhwan Abubakar, Danilo Rosafio, Nobby Obuya, and Swaleh Talib.
In girls' 14-15 years 4x200m freestyle relay, Bandari, through Juliana Nelson, Salone Patel, Lanisha Kitendo, and Rival Maria lowered the time to 10.26.23 to do away with last year's record of 10.34.54 set by Mombasa Academy.
Apart from shattering the four records, Bandari swimmers dominated most of the races with Mombasa Aquatics, Dolphins, and Nairobi's Otters swimmers giving a good account of themselves.
