Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has affirmed the government's commitment to addressing the concerns of Kenya's youth, insisting the administration is not an enemy of young people but an ally in their pursuit of a better future.
Speaking during a youth consultative forum held in Mukothima, Tharaka Nithi County, Kindiki said the government recognizes the critical role young people play in shaping the country's destiny and is keen to implement policies that respond to their needs.
"We are not an enemy of the young people. The hope of any nation lies in the strength, focus, talent, and innovation of its youth," he said, adding that the country cannot afford to ignore the voices of its younger generation.
He also acknowledged the recent protests by young people demanding better governance and responsible use of public resources.
He said their message had been received loud and clear and promised that the government would intensify its efforts in the fight against corruption and promote accountability.

"When young people insist on a better country, we hear you, we understand you, and we agree with you. We will lead by example and pursue reforms that uplift our nation," he stated.
However, the Deputy President also urged the youth to express themselves peacefully and avoid acts of violence that could threaten national stability.
"Young people today are more educated, more technologically savvy, and more exposed than ever. We hold you in high esteem and count on your energy to move this country forward," he said.
The meeting brought together youth representatives from Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties in a bid to foster dialogue and national cohesion.
