Ex-Siaya clerk shot dead during police burglary response

Former Siaya County Assembly clerk Felix Olwero was on Monday night shot dead by police while responding to a reported burglary at Whitehouse Resort in Seme, Kisumu, around midnight.
According to the police report, officers from Kombewa station cordoned off the resort after receiving a report from manager Sandra Okech.
It was the fifth attempted break-in at the premises.
Six people armed with pangas and machetes emerged from a thicket as officers secured the area.
Police said one suspect charged at the officers, prompting one to fire and shoot Olwero dead.
