Ex-Siaya clerk shot dead during police burglary response

Former Siaya County Assembly clerk Felix Olwero shot dead in Seme, Kisumu County.

Former Siaya County Assembly clerk Felix Olwero was on Monday night shot dead by police while responding to a reported burglary at Whitehouse Resort in Seme, Kisumu, around midnight.

According to the police report, officers from Kombewa station cordoned off the resort after receiving a report from manager Sandra Okech.

It was the fifth attempted break-in at the premises.

Six people armed with pangas and machetes emerged from a thicket as officers secured the area.

Police said one suspect charged at the officers, prompting one to fire and shoot Olwero dead.

The body was moved to Kombewa Subcounty Referral Hospital morgue pending post-mortem.
