Kenya marked the Mashujaa Day on Monday, October 20, keeping with a tradition observed every year since the promulgation of the 2010 constitution.
The national celebrations were led by President William Ruto at an event held at Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui County.
Similar activities were replicated across various counties with governors and county commissioners presiding over the events.
The Standard has documented, in pictures, how the nation's heroes were remembered.
