Preparations for this year's Madaraka Day celebrations are in full swing, with Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo leading the National Celebrations Steering Committee on an inspection tour of key facilities in Homa Bay County.
Thursday's visit focused on the ongoing upgrades at Raila Odinga Stadium, the official venue for the national event scheduled for June 1.
The stadium, now expanded to accommodate 12,000 people, is undergoing final touches through a collaborative effort between the national and county governments.
Speaking during the tour, Dr. Omollo lauded the teamwork between the various government entities involved.
"The most strategic parts of what Kenya is doing will be ready ahead of Madaraka Day. We invite Kenyans from all corners of the country to join us in Homa Bay for these historic celebrations," Omollo stated.
