Husband of woman found dead in Machakos held, machete recovered

A man who reportedly disappeared moments before his wife was found dead in Kikumbo village, Kalama sub-County, in Machakos has been arrested.
The suspect is said to have attempted to take poison after he was arrested in Mlolongo town on Thursday, and was taken to Saitoti Level Four Hospital in Kajiado County.
Upon discharge, the police took him to Machakos Police Station for questioning.
Machakos sub-County DCIO Simon Waithaka said he will be arraigned soon.

The man and the victim visited his parents at Kikumbo village last Friday and went to bed after taking their meals. But the following day, the woman was found dead in their bed and the man was missing.
Her body was found in a pool of blood and had deep panga cuts. Police recovered a machete believed to be the murder weapon in a toilet within the homestead.
