Jubilee unveils its flag bearers

Abdul Haji (pictured), son of the late Garissa senator Yusuf Haji will be flying Jubilee Party’s flag in the Garissa senatorial by-election.
In the Juja constituency mini-polls, the wife of the late MP Francis ‘Wakapee’ Waititu, Susan Waititu, will be running on the party’s ticket, while Zebediah Opore, will be Jubilee’s candidate in the Bonchari Constituency race.
Speaking during the unveiling of the candidates at the Jubilee headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi, Jubilee Party Secretary General (SG) Raphael Tuju was optimistic that the candidates would carry the day.
“We are confident that these candidates will bring back the seats to the Jubilee Party,” he noted.

Tuju lauded the leaders who were present for exuding political maturity and responsibility by coming together for the unity of the Party.
“Let us embrace and respect each other during the campaigns and during the polls,” he added.
Tuju while welcoming Abdul Haji to the Party on behalf of the National Management Committee (NMC) and the National Executive Council (NEC), exuded confidence that he will triumph and succeed his father.
Abdul, thanked Jubilee Party for supporting his bid to succeed his father. “If elected, I promise to work to the best of my ability for the people of Garissa and my party and complete the work that was started in Garissa county,” he said.
Similarly, Waititu also thanked Juja constituents for voting for her, to clinch the party ticket in the just concluded party primaries.
“The people of Juja made the right choice. Kazi itaendelea (work will continue),” she noted.
Opore, the former MP, who came second in the Bonchari Constituency election in the 2017 General Election, also promised peaceful and successful elections.
The event was attended by senior officials of the Jubilee Party including, the Party chairman Nelson Dzuya, Vice Chairperson David Murathe, Deputy Secretary General Joshua Kutuny among others.
They included Garissa Senator Ali Korane, Eldas MP Adan Keynan and Aden Duale (Garissa township) among others.
“All of us have agreed, despite our political, clan and religious differences, that the best we can do for the late Senator Haji is to support his son as our sole candidate, “ said Duale.
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has gazetted May 18 as the date for the three (Garissa, Bonchari, and Juja )by-elections.
