Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) presidential hopeful Kingwa Kamencu has affirmed her intention to go all the way to the ballot in the next General Election.
Speaking at Bumbe beach in Samia District during the 3rd annual national rowing and canoe championship, the youthful aspirant said that she has big plans for the country and therefore will not pull out of the presidential race in favour of another candidate.
She said despite her humble background which has no connection with any big political families, she is excited about her chances and expressed confidence that she will post good results especially among the youth whom she claimed her candidature represents.
"My candidature is proof of the growing democratic space in the country which has given candidates who meet the constitutional requirements including the youth an equal chance to vie for the presidency," said Kamencu.

She added: "People laugh at me but I have a calling from God which I am following to bring change in the leadership of this great country".
Present at the event were LPK national chairperson Julia Ojiambo, former nominated MP Josephine Sinyo and Funyula District Officer Bertha Onyango.
Ojiambo urged Kenyans to be peaceful during and after the electioneering period for the betterment of the country.
"Peace is necessary for any meaningful development to be realized and as a country we should strive to ensure that the coming elections do not divide us,” she said.
She said there is need for the Government to move fast and start conducting civic education across the country to educate voters on elections.
"Time is running out and yet most of the voters do not understand how voting will be done under the new constitution," said Prof Ojiambo who has since declared her interest in vying for the Busia county women representative seat.
