Police in Kiambu County have uncovered yet another illegal alcohol manufacturing den in Eka Tano area Kikuyu Constituency, seizing over 2,500 litres of ethanol and other materials used in the production of counterfeit liquor.
During the Thursday afternoon raid, officers recovered branded stickers from various alcohol companies, fake KRA stamps, and dozens of empty bottles believed to be used in the repackaging of illegal brews.
One suspect was arrested at the scene and is currently assisting detectives with further investigations.
According to Kiambu County Police Commander Dorris Kemey, the illegal operation was being conducted within a residential setting, putting the lives of unsuspecting residents at risk.

“We are deeply concerned because this activity was happening right in the middle of people’s homes. The health risks are enormous,” she said.
This is not the first time such a bust has occurred at the same venue.
Police records show that a similar operation was dismantled at the same premises months ago, but the illegal business appears to have resumed under the radar.
She further warned that the investigation would now take a more aggressive turn. “We are expanding the scope of our operations.
“We will go beyond just the foot soldiers. Our focus now is on dismantling the entire chain the financiers, suppliers, and distribution channels,” she said, adding, “We already have leads, and we are aware of the various tactics these illegal traders are using to conceal their operations. This will not go unchecked.”
The bust comes amid an intensified crackdown on illicit alcohol in Kiambu County following reports of deaths and injuries from toxic brews.
Local residents, while praising the police for their swift action, are calling for consistent patrols and greater community engagement to stop the trade completely.
The suspect arrested is expected to be arraigned in court after completion of investigations.
