Perks Security Limited, a Nairobi-based private security firm is expanding its operations to the Coast, targeting hospitality establishments.
The firm will also offer its services to shipping lines, shopping malls, residential homes and educational institutions. Speaking to Weekend Business, Perks Security Limited Operations Director Erick King’ori said all their guards have undergone training on anti-terrorism to curb attacks. “Part of the training module for guard force is anti-terror tackling which we offer in close liaison with the National Police Service (NPS),’’ said King’ori, who is South African trained security management and criminology expert.
He said as Kenyan tourism enters the recovery stage, they have deemed it fit to complement efforts by the Government to beef up security by having their guards trained on anti-terrorism.
He revealed that the anti-terrorism training includes security preparedness, with specific focus on terror threat, physical and cyber threats, crime detection, crime monitoring, early warning and security information sharing and networking.
“We have made it compulsory for those who wish to be enlisted into our services must undergo the training,” he said. Already, the firm has 200 guards deployed in shopping malls and business installations in and around Nairobi.
