The Kenyan government, through the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Creative Economy, and Sports, has formally taken over the stalled construction of Isiolo Stadium, a project that has been incomplete for close to six years.
During a comprehensive site inspection this afternoon, Sports Cabinet Secretary Hon. Salim Mvurya announced that Sports Kenya has been tasked with developing fresh architectural plans for a modern, world-class stadium within the next two weeks. Once finalised, the government will immediately move forward with the necessary processes to start construction.
Local leaders, led by Isiolo Senator Hon. Fatuma Dullo, expressed strong support for the government's intervention, highlighting that completing the stadium will inspire hope and ignite passion among the community, especially the youth eager to engage in sports and talent development.
