Uhuru Kenyatta not doing enough to fight corruption, says ACK bishop

Kenya: An Anglican Church of Kenya bishop has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of not doing enough to fight corruption in his government.

ACK Diocese of Mt Kenya South Bishop Timothy Ranji noted that despite corruption being rampant in the Government very little is being done to ensure the vice is kept in check.

Bishop Ranji was speaking at Bishop Kariuki Hall in Wangige on Saturday during the 15th Extraordinary Synod, where he called on the President to be firm and spare no one irrespective of their positions.

“If the current holders of office in the anti-corruption agency have failed, they should be the first people to go home. The President needs to be serious in fighting graft,” said the bishop.

 MEDIA ATTENTION

Ranji noted that presently corruption is alarming, adding that the Church is very concerned that very little is being done to fight the vice.

“Graft has gotten the attention of both local and international media as it has been reported in CNN and Aljazeera recently. We are demanding accountability and integrity as provided in chapter 6 of the Constitution,” He said.
