Chaos erupted at the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) headquarters in Lavington on Thursday, as the unveiling of Rigathi Gachagua's new party took place.
Suspected goons stormed the venue, attempting to disrupt the event as guests exited.
Videos circulating on social media showed Gachagua's security firing into the air to disperse the crowd. Some individuals were beaten, and one was reportedly taken.
Before the disruption, Gachagua unveiled his party, noting its focus is to listen to the people.

The launch was attended by politicians, leaders, and Kenyans alike.
"Kenyans have boldly told us to form a party that will form an inclusive government for the people and by the people. We finally have a political party that belongs to all of us, where everyone will be treated equally," said Gachagua.
