Nairobi, Kenya: Two Nigerians have been arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi and cocaine valued at Sh18 million seized.

The men aged 53 and 56 were on transit to Lagos, Nigeria from Brazil when they were intercepted at the airport by police.

Police say they have so far emitted 47 pellets of cocaine they had swallowed and inserted in their private parts since they were intercepted on arrival on board a plane that originated from Brazil via Dubai on Thursday evening. They are both expected in court to face charges of drug trafficking.

Airport CID boss Joseph Ngisa said they suspected the men were carrying drugs when they arrived and immediately put them on observation where they emitted the pelletes.

Police have intensified operations on traffickers in Kenya with more than 50 foreigners being deported over the offense. Among them are 11 Nigerians including kingpin Anthony Chinedu whose deportation has led to the detention of 12 Kenyan security officials in Lagos.
