The Kenyan volleyball fraternity is mourning following the death of legendary referee instructor and administrator Miendo Alfonse Maclean Salamba.

Salamba (pictured) passed on yesterday while being rushed to Kitale Hospital, in Trans Nzoia County.

In his condolence message, Kenya Volleyball Federation Chairman Waithaka Kioni termed his death as a big blow not only to volleyball but the entire sporting industry.

“We are saddened by the death of Mzee Salamba. That’s a big blow not only to volleyball but the entire sports in the country,” Kioni said. [Rodgers Eshitemi]
