Homeboyz to renew rivalry with Kabras Sugar at Prinsloo Sevens

Dala Sevens champions Homeboyz will renew their rivalry with Kabras Sugar at the fifth leg of the 2022 National Sevens Circuit, Prinsloo Sevens, set for Saturday at the Nakuru Athletic Club in Nakuru.

The deejays, who became the fourth different winner on this year’s circuit, have been grouped in Group A alongside Catholic Monks, Kabras Sugar and Western Bulls.

Two-time losing finalists Menengai Oilers will headline Group B which also features Masinde Muliro, Top Fry Nakuru and Dala Sevens hosts Kisumu RFC.

Reigning National Sevens Circuit champions KCB are in Group C alongside Nondescripts, Impala and Kenya Harlequin.

Group D features Mwamba, Strathmore Leos, Blak Blad and the Vihiga Granites.

The tournament in Nakuru sees reigning circuit champions KCB (75 points) hold a slim three-point lead over second-placed Menengai Oilers (72 points) while Strathmore Leos (66 points), Mwamba (63 points) and Homeboyz (60 points) close out the top five.

The second-tier competition has attracted a total of 24 teams led by the Daystar Falcons who were relegated from the first division after an impressive four-tournament run.

Other teams to look out for in this tier include Makueni, Kabarak University, Egerton Wasps, Administration Police Warriors and Mount Kenya University.
