Kenyan international Alvin ‘Buffa’ Otieno will be hoping to make an impressive debut for defending champions KCB against Mwamba in today’s Kenya Cup match at RFUEA Grounds.

The other match will feature last season’s runners up Kabras Sugar against Nondescripts at Kakamega Showground.

These are two rescheduled matches that were originally set to be played on January 8 but were postponed.

At the RFUEA Grounds, all eyes will be on Kenya Sevens star Otieno who will be donning KCB’s jersey for the first time having completed a move from Homeboyz in the full transfer window.

He has been handed a start on the right wing with Jacob Ojee starting on the left side.

Kenya’s leading try-scorer in the 2022 World Sevens Series season Vincent Onyala also returns after being been named in the midfield alongside Max Kang’eri.

Mwamba come into their tie against KCB placed sixth on the log with 14 points from seven outings, having seen their recent three match winning streak halted lasted weekend when they fell to a 31-14 away defeat to struggling  Impala Saracens.

Kevin Wambua’s charges will be hard pressed to stop the free scoring KCB who have managed to put an average of 41 points past their opponents in their last four outings.

KCB, currently placed third with 31 points from seven matches, will be looking to stay unbeaten and make the most of this game in hand to earn an automatic semi-final slots as the league phase draws to a close.
