High flying Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) Rugby Club will be aiming to register their third straight win in the 2021-2022 Kenya Cup campaign when they travel to the Rugby Football Union of East Africa (RFUEA) grounds to play Kenya Harlequin.

MMUST are currently unbeaten and will be banking on their good form to edge Quins. Last season, MMUST scored the last gap try to force a 17-17 draw.

The Kakamega based students have collected eight points after missing on two bonus-point wins in their victories against Nondies (24-15) and Homeboyz (22-17) and captain Kevin Abuga cannot wait to lead the team to victory in their first away game.

Speaking to Standard Sports, Abuga said they are confident of getting positive results on Saturday with an objective of doing better than they performed last season during their debut.

“The boys are psyched and ready to play especially after our relentless performances in the two games. However, that will not matter today against Quins since we have to play even better than before to win,” said Abuga.

Quins have also made a good start to the new season after winning their two opening fixtures against Impala and Nondies.

The KCB Sports Club will host a doubleheader with Homeboyz playing Blak Blad in the early kick-off match from 1 pm before defending champions KCB host Top Fry Nakuru.

Oilers will entertain Nondies at Nakuru ASK grounds as last season’s runners up Kabras Sugar host Mwamba in Kakamega.
