Nelson Oyoo scored a brace to inspire Kenya Sevens to a 24-7 comeback win over rivals Uganda in the Rugby Africa Solidarity Sevens match played at Markötter Stadium in Stellenbosch on Sunday afternoon.
Kenya drilled in four tries against Uganda’s one try to topple their neighbours, registering their second win of the day and fourth in total of the five matches played so far in South Africa.
Uganda were first off the blocks after former Kabras Sugar star Philip Wokorach danced his way through the Kenyan defense to score between the posts to give Uganda an unfamiliar 7-0 lead after converting his own try.
Kenya responded before the break with Oyoo touching down the right corner post after a beautiful offload from Billy Odhiambo but Uganda took a 7-5 after Tony Omondi missed the extras.
In the closing half, Kenya started imposing their dominance after Oyoo sold a pair of wheels through the middle of the Ugandan defense to score at the center as Kenya took a narrow 12-7 lead after Omondi’s conversion.
