Kenya Lionesses win six matches at Rugby Africa 7s

Kenya Lionesses registered six wins in eight matches played over the weekend at the Rugby Africa 7s Solidarity Camp at the Maison du Rugby in Tunisia.

On Saturday, Kenya lost the first match to Madagascar 14-12 with speed star Janet Okello and Sheila Chajira scoring Kenya’s two tries.

Returning Grace Adhiambo, Chajira and Okello would then inspire Lionesses back to winning ways by beating Madagascar 19-0 in the second match.

The third match saw Lionesses fall 12-7 to Tunisia with Christabel Lindo crossing over the white was for Kenya’s consolation try.

In the last match, Janet Okello and Stella Nafula crossed over to ensure Felix Oloo charges ended the day on a high note by beating Tunisia 14-0 in the last match of the day.

On Sunday, an improved Lionesses side thrashed Madagascar 22-0 before narrowly defeating hosts Tunisia 10-5.

Kenya would then thrash Tunisia again 17-5 before whitewashing Madagascar 34-0 to finish with six wins out of eight matches played.

The event will resume again in Tunisia this coming weekend.

Lionesses are using the Solidarity Camp to prepare for the upcoming Olympic Games.
