Ruto: I had a great revelation in South Korea

President William Ruto says his="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/entertainment/national/article/2001461454/kenya-south-korea-ink-trade-deal"> trip to South Korea He notes that he got a revelation that the country's economy grew because of their faith in God.

The president made the remarks during the 25th anniversary of Christ Is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) church in Karen.

While addressing the congregation shortly after the sermon, Ruto narrated how he witnessed over 100, 000 congregants during a church service in the Asian country.

"While in South Korea, I had a great revelation; 30 years ago, Kenya was lending money to them, but today, it is the world's 10th largest economy. I received the revelation that it is not by might or power, but by the Spirit of God. I urge Kenyans to trust God with me," the president said.

He went on and quoted Zechariah 4:6, a Bible verse that teaches Christians to believe God can make anything possible.

"At some point, Kenya made a contribution to support South Korea. Today I went there. I went to seek support for Kenya. They were generous," he added.

President Ruto made a three-day state visit to South Korea, on Monday last week.

His trip saw the two governments sign trade deals allowing the South Korean business class to invest and create jobs in Kenya.

According to the ="https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/article/2000203974/business-what-kenya-can-learn-from-south-korea">World Bank, the Republic of Korea< has achieved remarkable success in combining rapid economic growth with significant poverty reduction.

"The government of Korea's policies resulted in real gross domestic product (GDP) growth averaging 5.45 per cent annually between 1988 and 2019. This robust performance was fueled by annual export growth averaging 9.27 per cent in the same period,"

The World Bank also intimates that Korea's gross national income (GNI) per capita increased rapidly from Sh8,194 (US$67) in the early 1950s to Sh4million (US$33,790) in 2019.
