Leaders condole with DP on kin's death

Leaders have continued to send messages of condolence to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his family following the death of his elder brother Jack Reriani.

Reriani fell sick at his Mathira home and was rushed to Jamii Hospital in Karatina but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The DP who broke the news about the death of his brother.

Reriani was the only surviving brother to Gachagua after the passing on of the former Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua in 2017 and James Reriani Gachagua in May.

"The news of your passing hit me hard. I now remain alone among the sons of Kirigo," the DP posted on his official Facebook page.

"We spent quality time for three days during our inauguration. You were so happy jovial and full of life, we shared beautiful moments of our life back in the village."

Leaders led by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi condoled Gachagua's family. "My sincere condolences to our Deputy President following the demise of his eldest brother Jack Reriani. You and your family are in our prayers during the moment of grief."

"On my own behalf and on behalf of Nyeri people, I send my heartfelt condolences to Rigathi Gachagua and the larger Gachagua family," said Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga.

UDA party chairperson Johnstone Muthama said: "The news about the loss came as a shock to me. Jack was one of a kind and will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched."

Reriani was the spokesperson of the Gachagua family, a mandate he was bestowed upon by the DP during the burial of their brother James three months ago.
