Covid-19 infections rise by 559

Kenya’s Covid-19 positivity rate has risen to 15.4 per cent after 559 people tested positive for the disease from 3,639 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Out of the cases, four hundred and eighty-six are Kenyans while seventy-three are foreigners.

Three hundred and twenty-two (322) of the new cases are male patients while two hundred and thirty-seven (237) are female.

The Ministry of Health in a statement also said 23,700 vaccines were administered in the last 24 hours.

The proportion of adults fully vaccinated is 31.6 per cent.

Two hundred and Thirteen (213) patients recovered from the disease.

“The total recoveries are now 321,494 of whom 268,375 are from the Home-based Care and Isolation program, while 53,119 are from various health facilities countrywide,” Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said.

Kenya has vaccinated 18.6 million people so far against a target of 27,246,033 million.
