Njoroge wins at Njoro Club as Rugu swings to glory in Ruiru

Home player Sammy Njoroge made the most of course advantage after returning an impressive score to win the Njoro Country Club Lady Captain Catherine Oosterwijk prize.
It was a day of camaraderie and sportsmanship, featuring 70 golfers competing at the 124-year-old countryside club, which was originally established for colonial era Lords.
Njoroge, playing off handicap 31, achieved a remarkable score of 44 stable ford points to shine and celebrate Oosterwijk's captaincy, she first served as the Lady Captain in 1992.
Rose Muthoni, playing off handicap 37, claimed the overall second winner prize on a score of 38 stable ford points narrowly beating Nicholas Amayo on count back who also scored 38 stable ford points. Charles Terer secured third place with the same score of 38 stable ford points.
At Ruiru Sports Club, 264 golfers gathered for the Isuzu Golf tournament which doubled up as the homecoming meet for new captain Justus Mathenge.
Starring in the daylong tournament was seasoned golfer, Wambui Rugu, playing off handicap 24, who scored an outstanding score of 45 stable ford points to lift the overall title.
Suleiman Kamau secured the Men winner prize, playing off handicap 15 with a score of 41 stable ford points. Kelvin Chege was the Men winner second with a score of 39 stable ford points.
The Lady winner was Pauline Mungai, who posted 37 stable ford points beating Veronica Mwaura, who scored 33 stable ford points.
In the sponsor's category, Martin Murimu won with 32 stable ford points, playing off handicap 17.
Winning the First and Second Nines were Wilson Thuo and Jacob Theuri with 21 and 24 stable ford points a piece.
The Guest prize was awarded to Eric Mutuma, playing off handicap 17, with a score of 39 stable ford points followed by Stephen Kinyanjui, who carded a score of 37 stable ford points.
The Best Lady Guest player prize went to Sabina Wachuka playing off handicap 16 with a score of 34 stable ford points. Julius Kamau, playing off handicap 34, shot 37 stable ford points to lead in Division Two.
The Gross title was won by, Louise Nderi.
