Heavy rains washed out most of major golf tournaments in Nairobi and its environs.

Most of the course experiences were unplayable due to wet conditions, which rendered them unplayable and washed out some major tournaments.

The second round of the Kiambu Open field, which was loaded with elite players who included, including Michael Karanga, a top round one leaderboard at 6-under-66, was also suspended.

At Kenya Railway Golf Club, the Diwali Golf tournament was cancelled too.

Away at the Limuru Golf and Country Club, Caroline Ribui braved the morning storm to win the Lady Captain (Susan Mwanzia) prize with a score of 38 Stableford points.

Playing off handicap 31, Ribui navigated the wet course conditions like the top golfer she is to bag the win.

"I'm an early morning golfer and that helped me to navigate the course under rainy conditions, it wasn't easy but I'm elated to claim this win," she said.

The Division A prize was won by Mumbi Gatu playing off handicap 18 upon returning a score of 37 stableford points. Kabyiva Echaria won in Division B with a score of 32 stableford points.

Handicap 26, Steve Okello emerged as the men winner with a score of 39 stableford points followed by John Maina, who chalked 37 stableford points.

Youngsters Sean and Nathan Lyomu were the Junior winner and Junior second prize winners with 30 and 29 stableford points each.

Bagging the Longest Drive Men winner prize was David Owino as Adah Munyendo won the Longest Drive and Nearest to Pin Lady winner prizes.

Among the visiting golfers, David Mighty emerged as the Guest Men winner with a score of 39 stableford points, while Charity Wanjohi won the Guest Lady winner prize with a whooping score of 47 stableford points.
