Elizabeth Akinyi is the 2023 Stanbic Bank Golf Lady winner.

Akinyi garnered 33 stable ford points to emerge the top lady at the one-day tournament hosted at the Nyanza Golf Club in Kisumu on Saturday.

Phylis Chepkemboi followed her with 31 points. Tournament sponsors Stanbic Bank awarded Akinyi a 40-inch Samsung TV while Chepkemboi took home a Ben Sayers Golf Bag.

Speaking after her victory, Akinyi said determination, hard work and her teammates motivated her to victory.

"I enjoyed myself today. Golf is a fun sport and therefore I was out today to enjoy myself. I had some miss hits but I kept going because in golf you never give up until you finish with a put," said Akinyi.

Junior golfer Lucas Nyambogo emerged the men's winner with 35 points as Zachary Bichage came second runners up with 34 points.

"I did not expect to be on the podium considering I am still learning the tricks from the experienced senior golfers and pros. All in all am glad that I am among the top players and this can go along way to motivate young golfers," said Nyambogo who went home with Samsung Tv.

Gurdeep Panesar was the Divison 3 winner with 33 points as Renato Dsouza was the best Staff winner with 29 points.

Joyce Osike won the Longest Drive by a Lady award as Mundia took the men's category.

Christine Riaro won nthe Lady's Nearest to Pin award as Divygsh Chotai took the men's category.

Nyanza Golf Club captain Tom Odongo won the 1st Nine as Jiten Pabari won the 2nd Nine.

"It is such a honor to host the Stanbic Bank golf Tournament, as Nyanza Club.

"We pray for more partnerships with Stanbic Bank and we are calling upon more stakeholders to come on board," said captain Odongo.

Joseph Atito was the overall winner of the tournament with 38 points.
