APS Bomet FC will now participate in the FKF Premier League next season.

The National Super League side on Friday made history by qualifying for the Premier League for the very first time following the ruling from their abandoned match against Kibera Black Stars by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Leagues and Competitions Committee.

They were awarded three points and two goals from the abandoned fixture at the 79th minute on June 1 at Jamhuri Sports Ground in Nairobi between APs Bomet FC Versus Kibera Black Stars after a disputed goal that was scored by APs Bomet that resulted in the attack of assistant referee Eunice Njeri.

The Committee found Kibera Black Stars guilty of the abandonment, citing inadequate security measures by the host team.

“The Leagues and Competitions Committee in its meeting at the FKF Goal Project Kasarani on 13th June 2025 made the following finds: that the match was halted in the 79th minute following a disputed goal that was scored by APS Bomet; and that Kibera Black Stars FC fans and officials in protest of the decision to award the goal, accosted and attacked assistant referee Eunice Njeri,” the federation said.

The team's patron, Rose Chemutai was pleased with the ruling as they finally earned promotion to the Premier League.

The decision saw the law enforcers take their points tally to 64, five behind leaders Nairobi United, who have already secured an automatic promotion.

"It is not yet time for celebration, we are still fighting for the title. That is where the focus is," Chemutai said.
