Battered Sharks face shaky Nzoia as Wazito host Police

Kariobangi Sharks will be seeking to redeem themselves after the midweek defeat to Kenya Police when they travel to play Nzoia Sugar.

The early kick-off Football Kenya Federation Premier League match will be played at Sudi Stadium today.

Sharks were riding high in the standings when they hosted the service men, but a poor start and a red card saw them fall 3-1 to a struggling Police side.

The defeat saw Gor Mahia and Kakamega Homeboyz leapfrog them as they remained third place in the log with 16 points.

William Muluya’s charges however have a chance to bounce back against relegation threatened Nzoia side who are yet to register a win this season.

At Kasarani, Mathare United too will be hoping to end a four-match winless streak when they host Nairobi City Stars.

The Slum Boys threw away a 2-0 lead against Homeboyz on Wednesday to draw 2-2 draw, but they will be banking on their improved performance at Bukhungu to stop City Stars.

The last match of the day will see Police who are basking in the win over Sharks take on wounded Wazito who lost 2-1 to Sofapaka three days ago.

Tomorrow, leaders Gor and Homeboyz will be looking to stretch their unbeaten record to eight matches when they face Bandari and Bidco United.

After losing 2-1 to Congo's AS Otoho d'Oyo on aggregate in the Caf Confederation Cup group stage play-off, K’Ogalo announced their return to the local scene by thumping Vihiga Bullets 3-0 on Thursday at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County.

The victory saw them move joint top with Homeboyz who had drawn against Mathare on Wednesday. Both teams are tied at the top on 17 points from seven games.

The Green Army have the upper hand since Bandari have not beaten them in the last five matches.

The coastal side has lost on four occasions, with their only draw coming in the second leg of the league clash last season.

On the other hand, Bidco United have played against Homeboyz twice, losing 2-0 in the first leg last season and drawing 1-1 in the second leg.

Defending champions Tusker will be marking their return to local scene after being eliminated from Caf Confederation Cup group stage play-off last weekend with a tie against Sofapaka.

The brewers will host 2009 champions with an objective of turning around their slow start to the season which has seen them lose three of their five matches.

The other match will feature AFC Leopards taking on bottom placed Vihiga Bullets.

Ingwe ended the five-match losing streak with a 1-0 victory over Posta Rangers on Thursday and will be banking on that win to propel them to victory.
