Talanta, Fortune Sacco lead race for FKF-Premier League promotion

National Super League sides Football Club Talanta and Fortune Sacco are leading the race for the two automatic promotion slots to the FKF Premier League after winning their round 32 midweek matches played on Wednesday.

Super League leaders Talanta narrowly saw off Nairobi Stima 1-0 to maintain their six-point gap between them and second placed Fortune Sacco who thrashed Shabana 3-1.

Talanta lead the log with 60 points followed by Fortune Sacco with 54 points but Talanta have a game in hand.

Kenya Police thrashed bottom placed Soy United 4-0 to move third and into the playoff spot which if they maintain will see them play the 16th placed team in the FKF Premier League to determine the third team joining the top league.

Kibera Black Stars, Vihiga Bullets and APS Bomet are also in the hunt for the playoff spot.

Kibera drew 0-0 with Gusii to maintain fourth place with 47 points with a game in hand followed by Vihiga Bullets who thrashed Modern Coast Rangers 4-1 to move fifth with 44 points and with a massive four games in hand.

APS Bomet are sixth with 43 points after defeating Migori Youth 1-0.

Kisumu All Stars also kept their promotion dream alive despite playing to a barren draw against Mwatate United.

The former Premier League side is eighth in the log with 41 points but with three games in hand.

In the relegation zone, Kisumu Hot Stars occupy the second last spot with 25 points but with 12 games in hand.

Soy are bottom with 24 points as Coast Stima occupy the last drop spot ith 29 points same as Gusii FC who have a greater goal difference.
